Strawberry via Hobblecreek?
#1
[#ff0000]Looks like I'm going to be homebased out of Spanish Fork this weekend and looking for things to do in the neighborhood. How is Hobble Creek to get to Strawberry? Is it paved? How is it to pull a boat across? Never been that way and was wondering what it was like. Any other suggestions would be most welcome. Again, many Thanx![/#ff0000]

The Hobblecreek road is very scenic but I think you would regret it if you tried pulling a boat over that pass, you need to go through Provo canyon then catch highway 40 out of Heber.

While you are in Spanish Fork you might give Scofield a try instead of Strawberry. (EDIT - I see from your next post that you are very familiar with Scofield.) Also, if you haven't replaced your prop for awhile and you are dieing to do so, you might take a run out to Bird Island.

[#ff0000]I'm not familiar with bird island, I'm assuming Utah Lake? I do remember something a few threads back that bird island was good fishing cover made up of bent props and busted skegs, but I'm always in the mood for something new. [/#ff0000]

You can get to Strawberry through Hobble Creek, but it is a dirt road the whole way, and it is pretty rocky and rough in a few places. You'd definitely regret it if you pulled a boat through it. It is a very beautiful drive though. If it were paved, it would be a lot faster to get to Strawberry that way. It would cut off the two sides of a triangle that you have to take by going to Heber, then going up Daniels Canyon.

Yes it is on Utah Lake, and you got the right message on what a good portion of the cover is composed of.
