Decided to take my four year old daughter, Mae, fishing for the first time this evening after dinner. So, we loaded up the boat and headed to CFP to fish for a few minutes before dark. We put in a little after 7 pm and fished on a bank in the park where I usually catch crappie when the water temps are 56-60. Sure enough, the temp was 58 and the fish were there. In 30 minutes, Mae and I caught 6 crappie (all keepers but released), 1 nice largemouth bass, and a big golden shiner. We used a blue/chartreuse tube beneath a float. Fish were near the bank in about 6-8 ft of water. After I helped her set the hook, she was able to reel all of them in. She was a little nervous of the fish when we got them in the boat, but Mae did great! This was definitely one of my favorite fishing trips of all time! emoBig
