JDK, Riverpark, Bass - HOF Smallie what a night!, 3/31

<br /> sitting inside all day watching the sun just had to go fishing when i got off.. Got to Riverpark at 6 and was on my 1st spot at 615.. never moved and just had an incredible night.. Like they say no place like home.. I havent been to my home waters all year and started the year off with a bang.. About 10 mins in to the night got slammed and the fight was on. Nice 5 lb largemouth. Threw it in the livewell and continued on.. caught 2 more fat 14" fatheads on next 3 casts.. then it was on caught 6 more keepers in next 20 mins all off same little tiny area.. They were stacked in their thick.. Last keeper was the HOF smallie who was right at 18" and tipped the scales at 4 1/2 lbs.. what a football he had been eating well.. He crushed an XR75 gold colored.. Caught 2 more on the XR and the rest came on my special jerkbait.. This certain color and brand jerkbait has produced every where i have been in the last month.. Caught 3 more fish including a nice white bass and a chunky spot.. Almost had all types of bass but never had a yellow bass... Best 5 keepers were just shy of 22 lbs!!! After the big fury had to sit down and smoke a few cigarettes and slap myself to see if this was true.. I can count on my one hand the # of times i had a limit over 20 lbs but never had a 20 + lb limit in such a short time What a great trip. gotta love the long days.. Water temp was 55 and the water was very clear.... Best five was 5 lb largemouth 4 1/2 lb smallie 4 1/2 largemouth 4 1/4 largemouth and a 3lb largemouth for a total of just shy of 21 1/2 lbs.. When i took out saw there was a new Wednesday night dogfight wish i joined it LOL only took 14 lbs with 5 fish to win.. It is being put on by Southern Bass Anglers Trail and they said they plan on having them every Wednesday and it is an open event. didnt see how much entry fees were<br /> fishing is heating up see you guys on the water<br /> <br />
