Hal and I made two fishing trips today. I'll file this one first and create another one for the crappie fishing in the lake.

We got started early this AM and ran up to the wing wall at the dam. They were running a different turbine again this AM and it was the one closest to the wingwall. Really pushed the boat to the right. I don't know whether this was the reason for the slower bite today or all the company that we had later on. Some boats were running through the fish and that just about guarantees that the fish will stop biting. In the area where we were killing the smallmouth the past 2 or 3 days, we only caught two and that was just before boats began showing up.

But, it was a very successful 2 hours for us anyway. Hal caught his PB on 3 different species of fish. His best smallie, white bass, and striper. His Rockfish was 14 lbs 10 ozs. My biggest striper this AM was 9 lbs 10 ozs. Also had another smaller one around 3 lbs. I caught my PB sauger early before daylight. I waited until daylight to take the pic so that we would get a good pic. The fish was a shade over 18" long. We also caught 8 white bass and 2 spotted bass. I only kept the sauger today. All the other fish were released. I got a Tongue lashing from Mrs Dk for not bringing home the stripers. emoBigSmile

We fished with 1/4 oz shadhead jigs with 4 and 5" flukes. I was out of the good plastic that I was using this week. Had to go to backup baits. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
