Hit the Riverpart at 8 AM this morning with TW. We headed down to the secret hole and started chunking spinnerbaits. Man what a slow day. We fished out tails off and boated 16 small spots and a small smallie down river. Threw everything and finally hit a bank that produces small fish just to catch something. Almost no current, and no wind made for a very challenging day. The fish we did catch were all males except for a small female and were caught on tubes, spinnerbaits and cranks. Water temp was 57 degrees which is 4 degrees better than last week.
We gave up down river and hit one of the deep holes up by the ramp to jig spoons. Marked a ton of fish but only boated 2 spots, 3 bluegill, a google eye and Tyler got the 32 lb "small mouth" in the pic. The carp was TW's larger fish ever and it was fun watching him fight the monster on light spinning tackle. After he boated the the thing it took a big dump in the back of my boat. Looked like something a dog would do. TW said his arm felt like he had been weedeating all day.
Great weather day on the river and the sun felt good.
