Gator, Chickamauga, Crappie, 4/1/10, Solo
#1
My wife was feeling pretty good today so she gave me a pass to fish. Started at 10 am and left about 2:30 pm.
I tried several docks that are usually reliable but not even a nibble. Tried some spawning areas that worked well last year and none at all. Decided to fish some blowdowns that were near some 12-14 ft. water and found some. Total today was about 25 crappie w/ 14 keepers along with a couple slick bass, bluegills, and even one yellow bass. Water temp was about 60-61 when I left. Bait was 1/32 oz stubby butts for the most part in shad colors, some dipped in chartruce on the tail and some without it. It didn't seem to matter as long as they were close to the cover. Fish seemed to be holding shallow on the brush and holding tight.

Here's pic of a bucket of keepers. emoSmile
