Hit the Chick solo this morning around 7:15. What a great day to be on the water. Headed to a flat that usually produces good fish this time of year and on my 3rd cast I hook a stump that weighs 5.2 lbs. Awsome way to start the day. About 5 casts later I stick and boat a 3.1 lber. Sweet. About 10 minutes later I set the hook into another stump that goes 6.9 lbs!!!!! This is the 2nd largest bass I have ever caught. Unreal. 15.2 lbs of bass in about 15 minutes!!! All fish came on a 10" Junebug powerworm in less than 5 feet of water. It is very hard to take pic of yourself holding a 6.9 lb bass but I did my best. Fish the flat for another couple of hours and boated a 2 lb keeper, a short and lost a short at the boat. Threw cranks and traps but not one hit on either. They wanted a worm and that was that.
Broke out the crappie rod as I watch a couple guys catch a few on the flat I was fishing. Ended up catching only one but it was a good one at 13.25". Nice.
Ended the day with 5 bass boated, 4 keepers for 17.2 lbs (15.2 lbs for best 3) and the crappie. I tried my best to get the final keeper but no. Even though this was only 4 keepers it is my largest limit of bass ever.
Can't wait for next weeks CFF. The water should be higher and warmer and should be a great day.
