Well let's just say the weather had worked over the fishing in Florida until about 3 weeks ago.
Then the wife and I logged around 90 fish over three days last week'
I went today to see if the pattern was still holding and yes it was an X-10 kind of day!
I started at daybreak in the grass with a stiko sweet potatoe pie and they blew up on it like a topwater.
And then it quit... emoScratch
I went right to an area where the dropoff was in the main lower lake.
After wondering what went wrong, I found spikey tall weeds in 7.5 FOW and then it was every cast!
Turkey was playing nice with me and I threw every size of x-baits I had and caught fish on all of them.
I brought a 5+ in and it shook near my knee and I embedded a hook in my lower knee. Only 1 of the trebles was way in so I took it by the bend and pulled it out before I could unhook my fish.
It was one of those, "wish I had a partner" deals, but I never hit a nerve, so I let it bleed clean and continued fishing. emoAngler
Ended up with 34 logged bass and 1 coppernose that measured 11.5 inches.
In inches, I had 2 at 20" 6 at 18+" 8 at 16+" and all the rest were anywhere from 12 to 15.
All except 3 by jerking (slashing).
Got 2 days left and tomorrow looks like Tstorms, but Sunday is my last day before returning to East Ridge.
emoBooHoo
I'll be happy to get back and maybe I will get some crappie hopefully. I have been staying in practice at the boat launch on Lake Washington here with the jigs.
I just hope I remember well enough to put some in the fridge emoHungry
Also I miss my friends and those that let me backseat. emoGeezer

Here are some pics
The last pic was the rocket trails from the shuttle launch the other morning
