Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Fishing is slow. We had a major rain front come throughout Kentucky last Friday and a strong cold front on Sunday night. The lakes are near summer pool and some of the gates are open on the dams. Our good fall fishing has not started yet. The lakes will have to get back to winter pool before fishing get back to normal. Crappie are scattered and slow. Most are being caught on minnows along the drops found inside the bays. The depths are from 12' to 17'. Largemouth are being caught along the same drops. Some are being caught on spinnerbaits around the docks but they are also scattered. Smallmouth is the best bite. Most are being caught in Kentucky Lake. Small plastic worms and small crankbaits are catching the most from the secondary points inside the larger bays. Catfish should be considered slow and bluegill only fair.

TIP: Smallmouth are effected less by cold fronts than largemouths.

BITS AND PIECES: The friend of my friend is my enemy.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
