Wanda and I headed out on the Chick a little bit after 12:00 today in search of those rapidly vanishing crappie. I wanted to check one final spawning sites that I fish and there were no fish on it today. emoBang So, it was off to docks. We did quite good for the limited amount of time that we spent on the water. We were back in by 3:00 pm. We landed 14 crappie and 13 of these were nice keepers. Only one 9" crappie and it was the last fish caught. The smallest keeper that we measured was 11.5 inches long and I caught my 2nd TARP black crappie of 2010 with a very nice 15" fish. All fish released today, but won't be released tomorrow as MrWiskers mom needs some crappie for the freezer. I'm really looking forward to being with them tomorrow.

We caught our fish on ringer stingers that I have dipped in a very special way.
emoPoke 1/32 oz jigheads and 4 lb test Mr Crappie HI Vis yellow line. The best count today was about a 5 or 6. Fish were just a little bit deeper today than yesterday. All the fish were females that had spawned out. That big 15 incher should have weighed well over 2 lbs, but I'll betcha that it wasn't over 1.5 lbs. Still a very nice fish though. We had a 13.25 inch crappie that had an eel attached to it and we delivered it from that affliction. I cut the little sucker's head off and returned it to the deep. That's it til tomorrow. Be sweet! emoBigSmile emoGeezer

Wanda and I also caught 3 channel cats.
