Wow, what a day! Let me start by saying something all tournament/regular fisherman know...... This isn't an every day occurrence. Nor do I expect or claim to do this every trip, now having said that here's the report LOL.

Matt w/ Pro Angler Radio and I have been planning on doing a video for a while and decided on today last week sometime. I've been very busy lately w/ mixed results, somedays good, somedays great, somedays lots of numbers, somedays only 8-10 spots all day. Quality has been consistent regardless, 13-16lbs regular over the past few weeks. Well today was one of those days where we got numbers and size. Best five weight today was great, and I'd take the 2nd and 3rd best five from today in most any tournament throughout the year LOL.

Matt arrived at the ramp around 9am, my partner Bill Payne and I had been there since 7:30. On our first stop I caught a spot pushing 4lbs on camera, quickly followed by Bill w/ a small keeper. Then after Bill misses a fish the camera man Matt himself gets in on the action making a cast and boating a 3lb+ Spot from behind us LOL. All three of these fish were caught on Spinnerbait and Scroungers. We went to the banks shortly after to try for some topwatwer footage around shade lines. We managed a few fish there, one weighing close to 3lbs caught on a Poppin Image. As we worked toward the back of the creek I was seeing loads of shad/fish from 10-15ft on the sonar, I decided to throw the fish head. After getting some great sonar footage we stopped made a very long cast and half way in I hooked into a train spot that weighed upwards of 5lbs on the fish head. Matt could only stay two hours, most of the pics below are what happened when he left LOL ~

We caught over 30 fish today approx dozen were 3lbs and two 5lbers and a 4lber or two LOL. Pics won't do the day justice.

We really didn't have one bait that just totally out performed another today but the best baits were definitely Jerkbaits (Pointer 100 & 128's), Scroungers, Spinnerbaits, and 2 BIG FISH on Fish Head Spin. We figured the Scrounger caught the most fish throughout the day. ALL our fish were mainlake/mainriver mostly offshore PRE-SPAWN were ALL very close to big schools of shad. The shad are easy to find on sonar, the fish are not far behind.

Matt will have the video up in a day or two. I don't have pics of any of the fish that we caught on video. There's more pics on Bill's phone as well, so I'll add more later.

By the way, my feet's in the water because I got bit by a spider and my foot looked like a grape fruit.

I'M JUST ADDING A LINK TO ANOTHER FORUM.
