Picked up Procraft at Tyner Ramp about 8:30. Off we went to catch some crappies. The first 7 docks that I wanted to fish were occupied by other boats. I had to check my watch to see if it was Saturday, nope just Friday. Doesn't anyone work a full week anymore? Us retired guys are used to have the docks to ourselves during the week, lol.
Saw Polo and a crowd in his boat fishing a dock, so I went to an adjoining dock and shortly Polo pulled out. I motored over the that dock and picked up 4 decent fish off the back side.

Headed up river and struck out on a couple of spots. Finally found a viable dock that was open and moved in to it. Lots of fish there, with a mix of large and smalls. Fish again were holding a little deeper than past days, and were hitting bg shad in bluegrass and dark blue and crappie stinger in black with green tail. 1/16 and 1/32 jigs anywhere from a 3 to 6 count with the bigger fish coming deeper. We also picked up a spot and small SM Bass on a different dock. We managed 25 Crappie with 14 keepers that Procraft took home. On the way in saw Gator fishing with his son, and stopped to say hi.

Had some bad luck on the trip back to the dock, was running along about 25 mph and hit a small wake and the trolling motor detached from the cradle and went in the water. I pulled to neutral immediately, but it had shattered the fiberglass shaft and twisted it. Then could not retract the motor. Had to lasso the motor with a rope and pull it into the boat, twisting the shaft in a circle. Hard to do bobing in the wind out in the middle of the lake. Finally got it secured and headed on in. Stopped at Fish n Fun and Tom is going to get it repaired. Hoping under warrenty as it is only 7 months old. We shall see.

Enjoyed the day Procraft, hopefully we can find some more fish the next time.

Regards, Labman
