RattleTrapper, Riverpark, Bass, 4/18/10, Solo
#1
I decided to hit the Riverpark this afternoon for a few hours and got on the water around 3:30. I started the day with a 12 lb drum that fought better than any I have ever caught. I thought it was a big smallie for a few seconds. He nailed a jig and pig. I fished for a while with cranks a spinnerbaits, but only caught a few. I tried a new method of fishing a jigging spoon that didn't really work out too well; I think I needed more current for it to produce. Around 6:00 the bite turned on pretty good and I caught a bunch on a crank. Oddly enough, I didn't catch a single spot! I probably ended up with 20 bass: 1 SM and the rest LM. Nothing huge, a 3 lb and a couple of 2's. Ended the day with around 20 bass, 2 drum, 5 big bluegill, one white bass and a few google eyes. It was a great day to be one the water! The water temp was between 68 and 66 and the pollen count was around a million... I'll post a couple of pics when I can find my camera cord.
