Wanda and I ran down to the Riverpark this AM for a couple of hours of fishing. I wanted to try topwater a little bit and also to throw a new plastic bait on jigs to see if they would be productive. The plastic craw produced the biggest fish of the day, a 4 lb 6 oz beauty that was weighed and promptly released. I caught a 3.25 lb largemouth on topwater. I got several bites on topwater, but only hooked up 1 for every 5 bites or so. Lost some good fish that did temporarily hook up and threw the torpedo back at me. Wanda was catching some small spots on a small crawfish lure. They actually tore up 3 of the smaller craws that I had glued on.

I picked up the little minnow bait and began to catch several fish. I kept switching back and forth between top, minnow and craw. I believe that more fish came on the 2" minnow on a 1/16 oz jighead, but the craw had several bites as well. I put a bigger craw on just before we had to quit and it produced the biggest bass of the AM. I thought at first that I had the elusive 4 lb spot that MrWiskers says doesn't exist at the Riverpark, but alas, it turned out to be a largemouth. We fished 2 hours and landed 31 spots and 3 largemouth bass. Water temp was 66.1 and the flow was only 7,000 cfs.

We did see Fishinfool and Fishin Fire at the ramp. They were getting ready to launch as we were pulling our boat out. They should catch a bunch today as well. emoGeezer
