Canyon Lake /Guadalupe River Guide Report

Largemouth are fair to good to 4 lbs. main lake points in 4'-8' on clear Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com), plastic swim baits (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and Sil. Shad 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits. Upriver, a blk/blue Whacky Stick (www.cremelure.com),7" Junebug Snap Back worms and black/blue craw tubes* pitched tight to brush and standing timber along bluffs is producing.
Smallmouth are fair early in 10'-20' along bluffs on 3" pumpkin craw worms* (www.cremelure.com), pumpkin Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs and 3" rootbeer Yamamoto Hula Grubs.
Stripers are slow along the dam at daylight trolling white/gray 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) w/trailers, vertically jigging 1 oz. Pirk Minnows and/or tightlining live bait over humps in 70'.
White Bass are fair at daylight in 20' just off the rip rap at the dam using Frenzy Rattlin' Pro crankbaits, Tiny Traps and small swim baits.
Crappie are spotty but good in 5'-12' of water when you find them on minnows, Curb's crappie jigs and 1/16 oz. Road Runners tight to brush and standing timber.
