Jmax and I went up lake to catch some bass today. It took us to about 5 pm to get out there. We started off fishing topwater baits, me with my chug bug and he with his spook. There was no clear cut bait that caught more fish and both of us had more fish bust the bait and not hook up than get hooked. Most of the fish were off the bank half way back to the boat. The boat was in a max of 7 feet of water casting to the bank with long casts. We ran farther up lake to fish main lake structure but found no flow and so after about 10 casts we headed down lake. We ended up in Harrison bay fishing shakey heads in shallow water and kept catching fish until dark. We had 5 keepers and about 15 bass caught . Jim caught the biggest fish near the end of our trip on a shakey head worm. It went about 3.5 to 4lbs. My scale needs a new battery, as I found out tonight. It was great to be out there with Jmax as it's been a long time since we had gotten out there together. Hopefully we'll get out more in the near future. Thanks for the great trip out there Jim! Here's a couple of pics.
