white bass tips?
#1
i was wondering is anyone could give me some advice for fishing white bass? the river i fish at is 4-6' deep where they are nesting and i have a spinning outfit. i tried using rooster tails which everyone from work said to use but i couldnt get a one. i tried using a very small crank and got a few. i was wondering if some tips for presentation or anything that might help me out a bit. thanks for any info

Maybe some small tube baits worked real slow will entice them. Also maybe a slow topwater or jerkbait. Just have patience!

To get your bait down near the bottom to where the big white bass feed in tailrace areas, tie a deep-diving crankbait like Mann’s 20+ or 30+, a Bagley’s DB3, a Norman’s Big N or a deep-diving Bomber to the end of the main line. On the last set of treble hooks, attach a 24-inch piece of 10-pound-test leader. To the end of the leader, tie on either a silver spoon, a Rooster Tail, a small crappie jig or a tube fly, normally used to catch white bass on the surface.

Do not tie your trailer line to the hook. Tie it to the round (circular spacer) that the hook is wound on.

yea the big ones are deep..

you will catch some of the small ones on top

this method gets your big lures deep and also the lures that some of the smaller 10lb will hit deep.

use this method when trolling or from the bank to get the lunker lure deep .... and then the jig.

try it I think you will thank me when you do.

I've used chartreuse jigs and they work great. Just a curly tail grub on a jig head. Pic attached.
