We got a late start this AM after me forgetting my PFD and remembering it about 10 miles down the road and having to go back to fetch that, emoBang emoHoppingmad Yes I was PO'd to say the least. I hate to be late, 
The rain had stopped and there was NO wind by the time we got the boat in the water so we were finally off to hunt crappie, emoSmile 1st cast netted a 13 inch crappie so I was hoping that wasn't a bad omen, :o Turned out to be a really great day on the water, almost no wind and it got up to 80* before we quit at 2 PM. We went up river and found the real mud, I've never seen the river that muddy, only the catfish could survive in that soup, emoEek We fished several places, picking up 2 or 3 here and 1 or 2 there but finished out the day with a total of 40 crappie, no 'gills and no bass. I was a little supprised that we caught no other fish except for crappie. Jim did hook up on something that broke him off under a dock that had to be big 'cause it has his rod bent double, emoMad Wish we could have at least seen the fish to know what it was, it was a puller, emoBig
Jim kept 21 for an upcoming fish fry with only 2 being less than 11 inchers so we had some quality fish, emoThumbsup The bite slowed to a crawl around noon, I guess the sun got up high and blinded the fish, emoBig Water temp was 65*-67* and stained. Bait of choice seemed to be either BG Bone and Yellow or Licorice Chartreuse today and the count was 6 early and went to a 10 later as the sun got higher in the sky, emoTongue Lots of current today and hard to fish some of the docks. We lost several jigs with cross current, emoRedface Enjoyed the day with Jim and he&#39;s learning fast, emoThumbsup<br />I did manage to add TARP #3 for &#39;10 today - That&#39;s 3 TARP Crappie in the last 4 trips, :o I turned that one back, maybe next year he will be over 15, emoTongue
