"BECOMING AN OUTDOORS-WOMAN" DEEP SEA FISHING ADVENTURE
#1
CONCORD, N.H.: Women - registration is now open for an exciting day of deep sea fishing off New Hampshire's coast with the N.H. "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" program on Sunday, June 13, 2010. The cost of the event is $70, which includes instruction, bait and rod rental. Bring your own lunch. To sign up, use the print-and-mail registration form available at http://www.nhbow.com. You must be age 18 or older to participate. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

On this daylong expedition, you'll join Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) and Let's Go Fishing Program instructors for a chartered fishing day aboard the Yellowbird (http://www.yellowbirdfishing.com) out of Hampton Beach, N.H. This rugged vessel will take the group about 25 miles offshore to drop lines for groundfish such as cod, haddock and pollock. No experience necessary. On the trip to and from the fishing grounds, you'll learn about saltwater fishing equipment, techniques and fish identification, as well as how to fillet and cook fish.

The BOW Deep Sea Fishing Adventure is a "Beyond BOW" experience, expanding on the traditional Becoming an Outdoors-Woman fall and winter programs. "Beyond BOW" courses are in-depth experiences designed to give women skills to be able to do outdoor activities on their own; they also are an enjoyable chance to network with other women with outdoor interests.

N.H. Becoming an Outdoors-Woman programs are co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (http://www.WildNH.com) and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation (http://www.nhwf.org).

Funded through the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program, Fish and Game's Let's Go Fishing Program (http://www.fishnh.com/Fishing/lets_go_fishing.htm) teaches the skills and ethics of fishing and introduces thousands of people each year to an outdoor activity that fosters good stewardship of New Hampshire's aquatic resources.
