On the way there I stop at the boat inspection station. The girls working there were quick and checked my tube. I told them I wash it every time I get home. Anyway everything was fine and I had to give them my drivers license. Not sure why they needed that.
I get to the lake by cotonwood and we have an east wind. I knew better than to launch but I did it anyway. By 9:00 I was about sick of the wind and HUGE waves and no fish. Then a guy I know shows up and I stick around. It was one of our own members here 2dogs. I was having a flat out BAD day of fishing. I look over at the guy with 2dogs and this guy is boating fish like he had a gill net! I went on fighting the waves and looking in the basket at my one crappie. At one point the waves were so bad I think the crappie in my basketm, Bill ( I named the crappie Bill ) wanted me to put him out of his misery. I think he was sea sick!. I started to pick up a crappie here and there and then about noon maybe a little after the wind died and the waves calmed down. I caught a few more crappies and a couple of nice bass. Actually I was a Bass virgin at strike until this trip. Anyway, I caught back up with 2dogs and we fished together for a while and I got to witness him catch a DANDY rainbow on his fly rod. In all strike was SLOW at best I don't know why I am having so much trouble with crappie. A lot of guys are also doing poor so I think it is not just me. But every once and a while I see a guy with a bunch and that is ALL that keeps me going back. Here is a picture of 2dogs and his trout. Ron
