Muskrat, Chick, bass / topwater, 5-31-10, Debbie
#1
The topwater bite was pretty good this morning around 7:30. I hadn't planned to fish as I was going to pick up a battery to charge to go out in the next day or so. The water just looked too inviting as it was smooth as glass so we went out about 100 yards from our slip and threw some topwater lures near the pier at HBSP. All of the fish hit a big "Jitterbug" which I had in my tackle box and hadn't used in years. Debbie lost a very nice bass when it "rudely" came leaping out of the water and spit the lure back out at us. We were catching ( and losing ) them in shallow water up near the reeds on the bank and the grass that has really grown lately. It was the first time we fished topwater this year and I'm sure we'll try it again as we had a "blast" for a short period of time.

Jeff emoUSA
