Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Crappie fishing is still slow. The gates were closed on the dams yesterday, so we should see a turn-around anytime. The crappie are scattered now and only a few being caught in each location. Largemouth are fair along shallow wood in both lakes. Lake Barkley seems to be producing the best at the points close to the mouths of the bays. Smallmouth are good on small crankbaits and small plastics on Kentucky Lake. Most are on the pea gravel banks. Catfish are good along the shallow drops inside the bays on both lakes. Nightcrawlers are the best bait for the catfish. Bluegill are fair to good along the rip-rap.

TIP: Find the shad and you will find the largemouth in October.

BITS AND PIECES: "There are three types of people in the world.
