Made a quick jaunt to mess around the lake a little before family comes to visit this evening. Mostly just looking around and trying a couple new ideas and new places. Caught 13 very average crappie on deep structure, and a couple on deep docks. No real good fish. Did have some excitement though, got a hard hit on a main river dock in about 7' of water on a BG Shad in Blue Thunder. Figured it was a good bass when it dove back under the dock taking drag on 4# line. I brought him out for the third time when I finally got to see it. A very nice smallmouth bass. I finally managed to move it away from the dock with the trolling motor. It took a good 4-5 minutes to get things under control, lol. Bass weighed 3.2# and was just a fraction over 20". I thought it was bigger in the water, but the scales and measuring stick don't lie. Lots of fun on lite tackle.

Regards, Labman
