Took out the 14ft. tri-hull tiller with 20hp Honda last evening to troll for bass. Started near the dam and ran the break up to just above Gold Point with poor results. Had a couple of hangs so used the opportunity to cast to whatever held my lure. Found a decent stump bed in about 20 ft. which produced 2 nice LM on a 1oz. Football jig. Marked it on my Lowrance so I can go back a look at it on my structure scan on my bass boat and see what else is there. Trolled a little longer and started missing my big boat as I wasn't marking much on the break and was only picking up one here and one there making for a boring evening, can't wait for July when the bass are back on the channel break in big numbers. Went to another stump row I fish regularly on Chickamauga island and the fish were there in numbers. Caught one on the football jig and the fish coughed up a crayfish so I had an idea. I T-Rigged a Big Paca Craw and that produced 3 keepers in 4 casts. Good to know! I'll try that again next time I take the big boat out. Started getting dark so I fished a shell mound close to the ramp until visions of dinner started dancing in my head. All and all, not the best evening but I found a new stump bed and worked out a few things.
