I have a steel telescopic rod that was my Grandfathers. Heavy as heck and NO flex LOL. Cool conversation piece and "I" would try it once or twice...LOL
The tiny stripping guide is definitely old school with small diameter silk lines. Means it is not going to load todays lines well at all.

The reel is cool looking. Got a pinch of the Hardy look. Is it spring pawl or gear?
Worth $13. for sure.

okay.. so this rod is made of steel?? is it heavy?

I read that article and would love to see the rod where the line runs thru it instead of exterior guides... :-)

reminds me of when I was a kid using a car antenna to catch sunfish out of a pond on my grandparents farm. :-)

Thank you for your input Joni. This rod is two pieces
and super flexible.
Once im done remodeling my garage/man cave it
will look great on the wall with couple of other vintage
fly rods.
i just love the old stuff to look at.

Like Joni said, we have one like it. BTW, it's reversible too. Check out the handle and the little screw. You should be able to go from a fly rod[blush] to a spinning outfit by reversing the handle.[Sad]
