Just got home!!"report"
#1
We left last Tues. morning 6 am drove 285 miles east stopped a couple times for gas and "BEER"arrived at Green River Lakes Wyo.set up camp had several beers and talked the wife into putting the boat in the water and going for a little stroll and checkin on some of my old hot spots,I marked several fish at 75' so I hooked on a flat fish sent it down on the rigger and put another on leaded line and started to troll. About 5 minutes later my old trusty 7.5 merc started making all sorts of racket, squealing and hissing and steaming then it killed!!Oh F$%#!! We realed up and I tolled the wife "if" it starts im going to go ball's out for the shore about 3/4 of a mile, after a few pulls it started and I hit the gas and headed for shore and she locked up about 200 yds short so we used the trusty old oars to make it in thank god the wind was not blowing!! Then I said to myself "great"7 days up here and no motor!

After drinking on it all night I pulled the plugs in the morning and put a shot of oil in each cylinder and after 2 pulls it started!!I took it back to the water and did a little messing around with it and found that the water pump would only pump water if you were half throttle or more,so I ran it the rest of the week, trolling was out of the question but it worked just fine for jigging, bummer huh"NOT" I dont think them fish up there have ever been jigged before,we put a hurtin on those macks,we cought a boat load every time out except 1 day when it rained. all fish were 17-25"and cought in 75' using 3/4oz.tubes with frozen chubs"smith&edwards".The weather was great low 80s in the day and it was a cold 26 thismorning, but was a great trip!!"BIG FISH STILL RULE"M.H.[Wink][Wink][Wink]

MH, way to go! I didn't get to GRL as the kids wanted to go potty about the time I hit the turnoff for New Fork Lake and although I had a canoe in my 19' Crestliner, I wanted to see this area too. We stayed for three days and had a concrete ramp (no dock though) that was a piece of cake to use. Few others on the lake, I was able to paddle the "narrows" that separates the lake in half. Caught just a few rainbows trolling and spotted many fish near and on the bottom but only tried jigs for a few minutes. I'll definitely have to try it again as the scenery is breathtaking, much like GRL. I'll have to take the canoe a little further up the road too. Thanks for the report and sorry we didn't come to visit. The kids were a handful as it was for just me. I can't help but think about another trip during Labor Day...
