Got a good 4th place finish yesterday with 22lbs 8 oz. I led for a while cause I was in the first flight and lost one fish that I would have been pushing Rogie with but that's the way it goes. Went down there on Memorial Day and practiced all week. The bite was on fire! I had 19.5lbs within the first thirty minutes catching keepers every cast until two boats creeped in on me since they were not catching any until the point we were crossing lines. I probably caught 75+ fish all day. They were anywhere from 10 to 25 feet deep on and off the river channel. Caught them all on a watermelon colored Omega Custom Tackle football head jig with a Zoom twin tail watermelon red trailer. The key seemed to be to let the jig sit still for a second or two betwwen drags to really get them to bite it. Also caught them on the soon to come out lineup of Nuclear Rods. By far the most sensitive rod I have ever used which is a real key in the deep water.
