Running out to the little church at just after 7AM and putting in the cave lake was just in time today.
I wanted to show DK some of the wondrous sights and fishing holes that we fish in the Nick for crappie.
emoAngler
So the first thing he does is start catching keeper schoolies of trashy green fish.
Very nice, so we eventually get a few of the species of choice (23) and about 5 LM and a couple of FAT goggle eyes (rock bass). We fished hole #1 and hole #2 and on the way back hole #3. 1 and 2 produce, but 3 let us down.
This was more of a guided tour of what yellburt and I have been doing for the past year, but what a blessed day!

We threw 4 and 6 lb rigs with 1/32 and 1/16 with the best being 16s w/ bluish colors in deep water.
DK got to see the turgid wash of water pushing in and water drawing out and the current that goes along with it.
In spite of the challenging conditions and the creative handling of the boat, We did manage a few. The fish were running small compared to the norm. but we had a good time and got out right in front of the nasty weather.

All in all a good day with the drumking and a wonderful time of fellowship.
Thanks DK and I hope we can try it again in better cycles.
Thank you for a fun fishing trip! emoGeezer

emoCool
