Jordan and I put in at HBSP about 6:45 this morning. I hoped to be able to put him on some fish since he hasn't gotten to fish in a while. Our first spot was fishing a grass covered flat. I caught 3 bass on a June Bug U-tail worm and Jordan caught the one in the picture on a Pop-R right off a point. I saw the hit and it was spectacular. The fish came out of the water and dive bombed the Pop-R. It was around 4 lbs. We next moved out on the main lake and fished a bluff with a zillion willow flies hatching but no bass. I wanted to fish a main lake hump but it had 5 boats on it so we went elsewhere. It turned out to be the right decision. We caught fish on crankbaits and soft plastics ending up with 23 bass with 10 of those being keepers and we stopped fishing at 11:00 am. Our best 5 would have only went 14.5 lbs but that is pretty good for us! I'll take 23 bass with 10 keepers in 4 hours of fishing any day! The water temp was 84 and we caught fish from 4' to 30'+. We had a great day and Jordan caught more than his share of the fish.
