My granddaughter, Gabrielle, and I only have a fish tale today as Papaw forgot to take his camera and cell phone this AM. emoBang Anyway, we did a lot of boat riding for her, jumping waves, etc. as the sun was already hot when we launched about 9:45. She did let me crappie fish for about 1 hour and right off the bat told me that she was going to be net girl today. She got to net about 16 crappie for papaw. The fish were deep and caught on blue ghost and patriot bg shads. I did have a good fish wrap around a post on a dock and break off without us getting to look at it. Bass or crappie? I did get her to learn how to shoot jigs. She picked up on this technique pretty good and quickly, but she didn't want to fish. Too hot!<br /><br />I was looking for bass jumps as we were riding up and down the river, but with the high skies and no wind to speak of, the fish never did come up in the places that they have the past 2 days. We probably should have been out at daylight. We quit a little after 11:15. That's it for today's report except to say that we treated ourselves to a Baskin Robbins ice cream cone afterward.
