Went out this afternoon for my first taste of night fishing this year. Put in at Soddy Creek and went out to the river about 7:30 or so. First stop was a place someone had told me to try awhile back so I gave it a whirl. Fished a dd22 and a magnum worm with no luck so picked up a rod with a shakey head. Started to cut that thing off, but slung it out there and caught one that I'd guess a good 3#. Fished it a little more and had the end of my trick worm bit off twice with no fish to show for it . Matt caught one that was length challenged on a lizard and stuck two more in this spot that we did not get to see. I wish I had stayed there a little longer, but had another place I wanted to set up on to begin my first "big night" of night fishin'. I may as well have loaded the boat at that time cause I never even seen a fish after that. It started lightning and with my cranking battery a little sluggish, I decided to get back close to the dock until it passed. I think I had one slap at a spinnerbait, but I couldn't be sure. Fish that were caught were with the boat in about 25' throwing up onto about 10". Didn't get a water temp, but I'd say mid 80's. Maybe I should try golf cause night fishin ain't working!!! emoScratch
