You have got to love habitat. I placed some habitat a month ago in 10 feet of water and I have been just letting it sit. I walked out yesterday and threw into the habitat and got broke off rather quickly. I just watched as the line disappeared under water. (good fish)
Today I was watching all of the boats stirring up the lake and decided that I needed to change out some rods and switch some line. After a full day of experimentation, I had everything changed. I decided to throw into the habitat............(green jig, watermelon) as I was watching the line sink it just took off. I set the hook and landed the first and biggest fish of the day at 4 plus pounds. I threw back into the habitat and caught a 16 inch fish(another keeper). Unhooked that fish, threw back into the habitat and had almost cleared it when my jig took off again.(another keeper) Five casts later another keeper. Retied and made another cast and yet another keeper. In less than 30 min's I caught and landed a limit of fish that would have weighed 12 or so pounds, on one of the busiest water days of the year.
You just have to love habitat.
