Norman and I started early to try for crappie and bass from Soddy Crk. up into Sale Crk.

We caught 15 crappie including a 14.25 in. TARP. They were very slow today. We fished vertical structure and docks deeper than 15 ft. with BG shads.

We caught 9 largemouth bass and 2 smallies. Biggest LM was 15.75 in. biggest smallie was 15.25 in. We caught the LM on humps next to the river channel and a creek/river channel junction. The smallies were caught on a bluff with BG shads. For the largemouth, Norman used a dropshot rig and a jigging spoon and I used mostly tubes. Norman lost a couple of real good fish, one breaking the line upon hook set with the DS rig, the other getting off the jigging spoon. He had another good fish on that took him under a snag.

We caught 22 yellow bass jigging a spoons at a creek/river channel junction. We also caught a white bass and 2 bluegills.

All fish were released except for a crappie (not the TARP) and a keeper largemouth that couldn't survive.

It was a nice cloudy morning with little or no wind. The flow was 17K cfs and the water temp 86.

A very enjoyable trip with a great fishing partner!
