Me and skeeter have been talking about going out one evening just for fun. This evening was the evening. In one word it was TUFF for us. Had a rough time getting them to bite and even though we found fish on the graph we had a really hard time getting them to bite for us.

Started with cranks and not a one. Shifted to drops and missed a couple. Moved and again...nothing. emoScratch Saw fish again but nothing. Moved again and saw more fish. Tried again and this time I had two decent keepers on a drop shot in about thirty feet and skeeter had a nice keeper on a jigging spoon. He also had two big slab crappie on that spoon. Would have made a few good sammiches. emoBigSmile Moved again and nothing, tried a jig and pig with nothing off of docks and bluffs. Finally skeeter caught another off a dock on a jitter bait that was a keeper. That gave us four keepers. Moved again to another bluff and then another hump...nothing. emoMad

With about an hour to go we went and hit some grass flats. Drowning shakeys we got on a decent run and sheeter had another nice one on it close to 3 lbs, maybe a little more. I held up Skeeter's 3 lber and said real loudly, "There is the City of Chattanooga and THAT'S OUR LIMIT!!!" Ikanelli would have been proud.

We also caught about six or seven more on shakeys in the grass. We left at 9:00 with 12/13 bass boated total with about 12 lbes with our best five keepers. Had two about three and three a little over two. emoRolleyes Nothing really all that big but the company was good and the evening was nice. A little windy but not too bad. emoThumbsup

C-ya on the water... emoAngler Jmax
