Looked at my schedule and was fishing with Judie (my lovely wife) today. We put in at CFP around nine, this was to be a leisure morning trip. Headed up river as Judie wanted to go into Soddy Creek and Possum Creek today. No particular fishing reason, she just likes the creeks there. Started dropshoting on an extended point in about 25' of water. Got a fair LM right away on a GULP 4'minnow. Missed a couple and then had my hands full with a really strong fish. I figured it was probably a cat and yes, a Blue about 7-8#. Looks skinny in the picture, but it was heavy. Judie caught a fair spot on her first attempt at dropshot fishing. This tired her out so she needed a snack and a nap, emoLaugh Wind was pretty strong so I moved up into Soddy Creek and tried a deep dock for Crappie. Caught 13 there, most nice keepers. Headed to Possum Creek, mostly sightseeing and now was time for some lunch. emoHungry . We usually eat pretty good when Judie is packing the lunch. Ham & Cheese on 5 grain wheat bread, potatoe salad, tomatoes, chips, and desert. Oh, also fresh fruit and cookies, lol.

Well we have had a hard morning of fishing and headback down river to try and find some White Bass. I want to try jigging them with a small Hopkins spoon. Find a spot showing some deep suspended fish and drop the spoons to the bottom and reel up a couple of turns and start jigging and sweeping (large sweeping upward movement). Party time, both hooked up on fish immediately. We caught 8 large whites and about 10 yellow bass there in about 30 minutes. Judie said she prefers the fish that hit with mean intentions so you know when to set the hook. Those white bass put up a strong fight. Lots of fun.

Ended the day about 12:30 with 13 Crappie, 8 large White Bass, 1 Spot, 1 LM, 10-12 Yellow Bass, 1 sm Channel Cat and a chunky Blue Cat. A fun time was had by all and the fish returned to bite again.

Regards, Labman
