Bigger Cat, Chic, Blue Cats, 7-5, Tina
#1
I guess you could say I am in mourning. I have been on vacation for a week and a day now. Now it is back to the grind stone so I wanted to see the sun come up on the river for a change as I work second shift and that is very tough to make happen very often.

Tina just couldn't make it out of bed that early so I headed to the nuke in hopes of some big cat action.

Man there was a lot of folks out there after the white bass bite early. I got to Skull Island at about 6:15 and was the 9 person there. Lot of folks had the same idea I did I rekon.

Started out pretty slow but I finally landed a couple just under 10 lbs. Then I hit the right drift between a couple humps and got hit hard. A pretty good fight followed with a gentleman telling me to keep its head up. Heck I was trying but it was pretty stubborn. I finally got it to the top and my net was all the way in the back of the boat. I have a 30 lb Boga Gripper that was my best bet of landing this one. Finally after a few unsuccessful tries, I had it locked in. It pegged my scale so an estimate above 30 lbs is about to follow. I did make an attempt to get it hooked to my cheapo dial and the handle broke off of it & there went my very niced blue cat. I would estimate it at around 35 lbs. Maybe more, who knows. I did have a blast catching it. Pics are hard to come by when you are by yourself.

Tina finally made it out by about 10 so I did get a couple pics. A 10.5, a 7.5, a 5.5. Just had a great day out there.

Daughter Melanie & her Husband Justin joined us after lunch & we had a blast. They to are in mourning as we all work for La-Z-Boy here in Dayton.
