Got in a quick three hours of fishing this morning at Harrison Bay. I figured I would try to beat the heat and the Saturday traffic plus the trolling motor battery was about shot. I fished in and around some of the sloughs but concentrated on the deep water point I've had success on. I caught close to a 3 pound bass I'm guessing ( my digital battery has been dead for awhile now ) on a Bomber Deep Flat A sitting in 20 but caught in less than 4 feet. I was seeing other fish at around 15 feet but couldn't get them to hit anything until I got the idea to use some minnows Deb and I still had alive in a bucket from the 4th. As soon as I tipped a crappie jig with one I caught a bass at about 20 feet on 4lb. test line. I think I caught five keeper size and a couple of small ones but no smallmouth this trip - bummer. I caught one decent bass on a buzzbait but they didn't seem to be much in the mood for it like they were yesterday. Just when I figure out my 10 second delay on my camera yesterday I leave it at home and I'm back to the "stretch and hold" routine with my old Kodak I keep in the boat. My arms weren't quite long enough for the first bass. I scanned them from pics from the printer dock and they came out a little small - oops. I can make a mess out of pictures unless my cameraman errrr...um, make that woman, is doing the job.

J.
