Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Fishing is not so good this week. Largemouth are still slow as well as crappie. The crappie are scattered and are being caught at different depths and on different baits. Minnows and jigs works as well as each other. Smallmouth are probably the best fishing at this time on Kentucky Lake. They are hitting both small crankbaits and jig/pork combinations. Bluegill are fair and catfish are slow. The record cold fronts and the heavy rains have scattered the fish. The lakes level came up 3 !/2 feet in four days. It then dropped back to winter pool in five days. This has hurt our fishing. The good fall fishing is ahead of us and should be back to normal in a few days.

TIP: Don't stay on the same patterns too long. Change with the weather and lake conditions.

BITS AND PIECES: If you think you can't, then you probably can't.

NOTE: My son and myself will be in South Dakota hunting pheasant next week. There will be no fishing report, but hope to see you the following week after we get back on the lake and on line.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
