I headed over to Washington on Friday to fish the Cowlitz for steelhead so I can cross another place off my fishing bucket list. I'm meeting some buddies who have a jet boat and we are staying at the Barrier Dam Campground. They have some experience on the river but I've never fished there. I'll bet some of you have fished it and any advice would be appreciated. Based on the latest info, it looks like we may hitting it just about right. I'll give a report when I get back on Tuesday.
Thanks.

Drag divers and prawns or sand shrimp. Side drifting also works well if the pressure is off but I bet you won't see much of that.

Fished with a guy that had a cabin a few miles down from the hatchery back in the early '90's. We would run his drift boat up to the hatchery and drift back down to his cabin. The deal was we would start about midnight and fish to sun up using glow in the dark spin and glows. It was some good times but I never could get use to running that river in total darkness.
