After the river cleanup last night Monstercat came down with the big-cat pontoon to try some night fishing. We hit the dam first for some bait, millions of small shad, but no big ones. We caught 6 mixed sized blue-gills and headed down river to a couple holes I know of with those and some skipjack out of Troy's freezer.

The first hole was totally unproductive, and after a good soak moved to the next. There was a guy fishing it, so we passed by and hit the furthest we would go for the night. We only had one hit there, with a fish stripping a live gill right off the hook.

On to the next spot back up river, it was vacant so we camped out there for a while, and finally got a fish to play, this had to be the meanest 18lb blue I've ever seen, and Storm had to work hard to get this one in the boat.

It got quiet there, so all the way back to the dam for us. We stayed as long as the lightning would allow without another bite.

It was hot, buggy and very little breeze, but we were on the river, so life aint bad.
