Puget Sound?
#1
So I have to apologize for all of the non-Idaho posts lately but summer's when I actually get to do some traveling... So I'm going to the Seattle area (I don't know where exactly so I can't be too specific) for a wedding reception on my wife's side next week. I'm told we're staying within walking distance of the sound. Does anybody have any tips for something that's fun and easy to catch over there from the shore or any rivers that are especially exciting? I'd really like to catch a flounder, or a dolly varden, or a coastal cutthroat, or a squid, or a ....... As you can see I'm not too picky. I just want to catch something, preferably something I can't find in Idaho just to make it a little exotic [Smile] Any tips would be appreciated.

iliketofish,

You will be at the sound during an exciting time of the year. You will most likely be "combat" fishing wherever you go due to the fact the July is the time of year when the sockeye salmon are running. If you can find space around the sound you can still find great halibut, flounder, lingcod, and rockfish fishing. If you're willing to travel a little bit you will find many different kinds of fisheries. Around the salt flats you can find ocean river cutthroat. On the northside of town you can find good steelhead fishing year round.. If you go to this website: www.pugetsoundfishing.com you can probably find some helpful advice.

If you have any other questions, just let me know..
