Coast Trip

I can't find much info on the Oregon page so I thought you guys might know.
I'm planning on being on the coast the second week in August and i'm curious if anyone has a particular Charter they like. I was thinking around the Newport area but that's not cast in stone. Thanks!!

Are you looking at a big 20 plus person boat or a 6 passenger charter. For a 6 Pack I like Nalu out of Depot Bay and for a larger boat I like the Siggy G out of Garabaldi.

Having come from Oregon I can tell you that you should have a blast with that schedule. Salmon coastal fishing really starts to come on early August as the fall run lines up off the coast to fatten up for their last "voyage". Ling Cod, Rockfish and Crabbing should all be excellent this time of year, Tunas might be out of range though.

As far as charters go we always preferred Dockside Charters out of Depoe Bay which is about 30 min north of Newport. Smaller boats = a better time was why we always went with them. Here is a link to their site....
