33 hole & boulder harbor 7-20

hit 33 hole right before daybreak with my son, there were fish slurpin all over the place. mostly carp but i seen one fish come clear out the water and it looked just like a trout it was only a few feet away from me, it was kinda dark still though. hooked up a nice lil fighter on a rat-l-trap. only seen the silvery shimmer before it was gone. then i started throwing a crippled herring jig and i thought i hung up but all of a sudden there was 2 huge pulls and it was gone. when i reeled in i checked my knot and noticed there was some blood on my hook must of snagged a carp or something. my son ended up catching a couple dink cats and a 3 lb carp before we packed up and went to check out boulder harbor. we got to boulder harbor around 9 a.m. not a soul in sight other than ppl launching. the water was sooo shallow, off the end of the fishing pier it was only about 5 ft deep. i thought for sure our day was over but i still threw out a line with some shrimp. and about an hour later i was not paying any attention to my rod <i was feeding the shad bread crumbs..> i looked up and my rod was teetering on the railing being pulled by something i ran over set the hook and whatever it was, just sat there like a rock with huge head shakes i had to tighten up my drag i started reeling it in, my 9 foot med/heavy salmon/steelhead rod was doubled over. all of a sudden it made a run and snap my 8lb flourocarbon leader broke... that was that.. re-tied and casted again got only one more bite before we left @ 11.. never will know what that fish was im assuming it was a big catfish but i'll never know.... sorry bout the long report...tight lines

oh i forgot to add something on 33 hole right after sunrise i was working a zara puppy and not 4 ft from shore got exploded on by... i have no idea but it was big. scared the crap out of me and my son lol..big bass?
