David and I finally got together for a crappie fishing trip today. We had been wanting to get together for quite sometime and today was the day. Too bad that the fish are as slow as they were today. We only caught 26 crappie, 3 bass, and 4-5 bluegills. The fish were mainly on a 12 count today, though some were a little bit deeper. BG shads and stubby butts were our lures of choice. David did get a big TARP 14.75" black crappie on a slab slayer. Not many fish came from docks as we mostly concentrated on offshore structure and then some vertical structure. We never did find a concentration of fish, but just caught one here and one there. We moved around a lot as I wanted to show David several places that hold fish from time to time. Some of the places that I showed him are for cooler weather and I knew that we wouldn't catch very many in those places today. I had a great time and am looking forward to going with him again. We fished out of my boat today and released all fish. David said that he felt like a golf ball in high weeds without his side/bottom scanner to tell him where the concentrations of fish were. emoBig
It got hot before we quit today and gonna get hotter before this week is out. Water temp was in the high 80's when we started and I would be surprised if it isn't in the 90's by the time we stopped. We forgot to check the final temp. emoBig
