We got there about 8 pm and set up at Perch Point. Didn't get a nibble on various catfish baits until around 1:30 am when my wife's line went slack. She said hmmm, I said the fish came towards you, get him. She was using a hunk of hotdog at the time for bait. She reeled up and felt fish and set the hook and the fight was on. It peeled line from her light action spinning rod until I could see spool. I tightened the drag as much as I dared and she got it close then it left again. This went on over 10 minutes. Finally got it close and it went around a pipe holding the dock, then under the dock, then around a stick. When she got it all untangled and to the surface, it was a big carp. I netted it and she had her biggest fish ever. It was 32" and over 15 pounds.
Next morning early I got a 15" smallmouth on a plastic worm. Nothing else was biting and we left before noon. When I cleaned the bass my son was inspecting the guts and the stomach had a 4" section of pumpkin colored plastic worm in it, all partially digested and old looking. And because we have never tried it, we fried up some carp and it tasted just fine.
