Slipped out of CFP this morning for a couple of hours to try and find a few hungery bass. First spot tried dropshot with gulp minnow, but no takers. Moved down into Harrison Bay and worked edge of shallow point at about 15' with jigging spoon (hopkins 1/2 oz). Had 4 decent LM eat the spoon. Had some fish start busting shad on the surface, so had rod in hand with the spoon, and it casts a mile, so gave it a heave and caught 2 more on top, lol.

Bite stopped there so moved to a dock to try for a few crappie. Caught 5 keepers there on BG Shad in Blue Ghost on 1/32 jig. Were in about 15' of water and on the bottom. Took about a 18 count to get down to them.

Decided to run up river and try some deeper jigging spots. Marked a ton of fish at a breakline near the main channel. Dropped down a spoon and had an immediate hit. At first I thought it was a cat and horsed him up to the surface from about 30' deep. It was a nice LM and when he hit the surface he got airborne and threw the spoon
emoBang . Caught one more bass there and a couple of drum. Was getting hot so headed for home. All fish released to bite another day.

Saw Fishndoc at the ramp when taking out. He is on vacation and fishing every morning and evening with a nap in between. My kind of vacation.

Regards Labman
