Working some OT this weekend so I had to stay up. I decided to go do some bank fishing and try out some new stuff. Started off with a senko and caught a small bass(just a tad bigger than the bait). After the senko it was time to try one of the V&M 14" Bayou Giants I just got...second cast boom...and blah...lost it in the grass. A few casts later another fish and he throws it...it wasnt very big either. Decided to switch over to spinnerbait and caught one a little better, decided to change spots. Moved over to another dock and on my first cast with the "giant" hooked up with a chunker...first keeper of the night probably 2-2 1/4. Packed up and moved over to Chester Frost. Walked out on the pier fished for a while nothing. Turned around and right on the weedline was a nice largemouth. I pitched the senko on top of some grass, pulled it over slowly and watched the fish move over to the bait. I slowly picked up and he made a swipe at it..miss...dropped it back down again he picked it up, but when I put pressure on the line he let go.....dropped down again and bam...now hes on. Was playing him out while getting the camera out of my pocket and he finally danced and threw it. It was awesome to watch the fish in that clear water, and how it reacted to the bait. Only took one pic...ended up with about 5 only 1 keeper and the one nice one that threw the hook at the CFP. All fish were caught in 2-4 fow, on edge of weedlines. Wareagle 1/20z Black N Blue spinnerbait, 5in black w/blue flake senko, 14in Black w/blue flake bayou giant were the lucky baits tonight. Well this looks like my only trip for the weekend....booooooooooooooo...off to work tomorrow night!
