Spence and I got on the water at 8 or so this morning.
Started the day off very very slow, didnt catch a fish (or even have a bite) in the first 30 minutes. That was being on a drop off I usually load the boat with fish early on in the morning. Finally gave up on it and started t-rigging and shakey heading the trees and banks. Over the next hour Spence and I boated 2 small LM and a spot.
Decided we werent doing much there and headed up the lake a good ways. Nothing much going on over the next 30 minutes.
Then finally found the fish after a good two hours of looking. Just one small place where the fish were holding really tight to the bank. Started off with a nice LM that went 3#. About 20 minutes later Spencer gets a hit, sets the hook and the line breaks. He said it felt like a good sized fish... flipped the dropshot where he had it, next thing I know I'm pulling up another good fish. This time, a spot thats going 3-3.5lbs.
Spencer boats the next keeper after a while, another largemouth.... Then another few minutes go by, I boat another keeper largemouth. All fish came in the same spot, out of 1-2FTOW... we also boated one more small spot there and a few small largemouth in between.
Gave up on that spot after fishing it a good two hours, getting no more action from the fish. Made the move to a creek, fished our way up and down it for a good while. Boated several more largemouth and 2 crappie.
We got off the water around 2:30 this afternoon. The bite wasnt anything special but it was worth it catching a few good sized fish.
Had a total of 4 keeper bass. 11 largemouth, 3 spots emoScratch 2 unusual for us crappie and a little google eye to boot. emoTongue Very unusual day for us LOL. Usually its only spots, but had more largemouth than spots today and 2 crappie... shoot I hardly ever see a crappie while bass fishing Parksville emoUp
But we had a great time... the 4 keepers would've gone about 11lbs. We just couldn't get that last keeper. But still thats a great bag for Parksville even with 5 keepers.
Spencer treated me with some good lunch at the Ocoee Dam Deli when we got off, thats my first time there and it was some good emoHungry Thanks Spence!
Also, we caught fish on 4 different baits, t-rigs, shakeyheads, dropshots, and the good ol toad.
Water temps were around 83-84F out on the main lake.
Thats all for now, be safe on the water... cant wait for Fall emoToast
