Zack (Micropterus), called me last night and said that he had a livewell full of baitfish and crawdads and wanted to know if I wanted to meet him for a couple of hours this morning to try for some Smallmouth Bass. Sounded like a good idea to me so we fished out of Riverpark from daybreak until about 11.

We boated a lot of fish today, mostly catfish. We caught so many cats that we honestly lost count. Zack and John did manage to boat 4 nice Brownfish. I was not able to boat a Brownie today but was ok with being net man... The biggest tipped the scale at 4lbs.

Our target areas were channel breaks and deep holes. We tried the bride pilings downtown too but came up empty except for cats. Seemed to be an early morning bite. The action really slowed down at about 10 o'clock.

We were surprised that we did not catch more spots than we did. Especially with live bait.
