CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 86 degrees; 909.28'
Largemouth are fair at first light and under cloud cover along channel breaklines in 4'-8' on 1/8 oz. white Tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and clear/blue back Rat-L-Tops topwaters (www.rat-l-trap.com) & plastic swim baits (www.canyonlakefishing.com) but moving to areas with brush or standing timber in deeper water once the sun is up. This is where a watermelon/red Craw Tube or 3/8 oz.
watermelon Finesse jig with Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailer will produce when worked tight to targets. After mid-morning a Carolina rig with a white Snap Back jerkbait (www.canyonlakefishing.com) worked down deep sloping points should will produce.
Smallmouth are fair in 10'-20' using a rootbeer Yamamoto Hula Grub (www.canyonlakefishing.com) on 1/8 oz. jigheads or a Smokin' Green Devil's Tongue on a drop shot rig.
Stripers are slow tight-lining live perch in 70'-90' feet and trolling a 1/2 oz. white/gray Hyper Striper jig(www.kgenterprise.com) on downriggers.
White Bass are slow vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows just above schools or trolling Shad Raps along the dam.
Crappie are slow to fair tight to standing timber or brush on minnows.
